12. Mobile Applications
This section explains how our mobile applications handle data. It supplements the practices described above and, where it conflicts with the general sections, governs for the app in question. We use a per-app structure so that each application's practices are documented separately. The contact details, GDPR/UK GDPR and CCPA/CPRA rights, and security commitments described elsewhere in this policy apply to our Apps as well.
12.1 GreenCall
GreenCall is a generic SIP client that lets users register their own SIP account and make and receive internet voice calls. GreenCall has no Fionetix login or user account — you connect to a SIP server that you configure yourself.
Data the app uses, and how
- Microphone (voice calls). The microphone is used solely to capture your voice during an active call. Call audio is transmitted in real time to the other party via your own configured SIP server. Fionetix does not receive, store, or have access to your call audio.
- SIP account credentials (username, password, domain/server). Entered by you and stored locally on your device. They are used only to register with and place calls through your own SIP server. They are not transmitted to Fionetix.
- Contacts. With your permission, the app reads your device contacts so you can pick someone to call. Contacts are used on the device only and are not uploaded to Fionetix or any third party.
- Call history. A list of your recent calls is stored locally on the device for your convenience. It is not uploaded.
- Call recordings. A recording is created only if you explicitly tap Record during a call. Recordings are saved in the app's private storage on your device and are not uploaded. You can delete them at any time.
- Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics). The app sends anonymous, aggregate usage events (for example, that a call was started or connected, or that the app registered) to Google Firebase Analytics to help us understand feature usage and improve the app. These events do not include call content, contacts, phone numbers, or SIP passwords. Firebase also automatically collects standard analytics identifiers (an app-instance ID, device and app information, and an approximate region derived from IP address). This data is processed by Google as our service provider; see Google's privacy policy. This data is encrypted in transit.
- Background operation. The app runs a foreground service to keep your SIP registration alive so that incoming calls can be received while the app is in the background. This does not collect any additional data.
What we do not do
For the GreenCall app, we do not:
- sell personal data;
- receive, store, or listen to your call audio;
- upload your contacts, call history, or recordings;
- collect your SIP passwords on our servers.
Data sharing
We share data only with Google (Firebase Analytics) as described above, and where required by law. We do not use advertising networks, and the app contains no ads.
Permissions (plain language)
- Microphone: to capture your voice during calls.
- Contacts (optional): to let you choose who to call.
- Notifications and full-screen notification: to show the incoming-call screen.
- Foreground service: to stay reachable for incoming calls while the app is in the background.
- Bluetooth: for headset audio.
Retention and deletion
On-device data (SIP credentials, call history, and recordings) remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Analytics data is retained by Google according to their retention settings. You may contact us at hello@fionetix.com to exercise your data rights (see Section 9).
Google Play Data Safety alignment
Consistent with the GreenCall Google Play Data Safety declaration, the only data collected and shared with a third party (Google) is App activity, Device or other IDs, and approximate location, used for the purpose of Analytics and encrypted in transit. All other data described above (microphone audio, contacts, call recordings, call history, and SIP credentials) is handled on your device and is not collected by Fionetix.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
